Yesterday, our third grade Eagles had the wonderful opportunity to meet author Maya Myers. Myers, who lives in Charlotte, NC, has written a variety of books ranging from nonfiction such as National Geographic Kids and picture books about Dot, to a chapter book series, Rosie Woods! She was joined by Ms. Leo, an educator and chair of the State Young Authors, AIMS board member; Angie Tally, founder of the AIMS nonprofit and from The Country Bookshop; and Dr. Joanna Perkins, LCS Curriculum Specialist.
Dr. Perkins applied for and was awarded the IABS/MTSS State Grant funds for Core Support! Thanks to this grant, our library received new books, and each student took home a signed copy of Mrs. Myers’ latest book, "Not Perfect," which she read aloud.
Literacy is the beginning of empathy 📖🦅

We had a wonderful week celebrating our teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week! A heartfelt thank you to our generous local businesses and families for their donations and support. We couldn't have done it without you! 🌟🍎📚 #TeacherAppreciation #ThankYou
