Ingram performed some of their latest work.
Art is not just about creating beautiful things—it’s about building confidence, promoting critical thinking, and encouraging teamwork. Let’s continue to champion the arts and ensure that every student has the opportunity to experience the transformative power of creativity. 💖

🚍💛 School Bus Driver Appreciation Banquet 💛🚍
Did you know that the LCS Bus Fleet has logged more than 571,000 miles since the start of the academic year. That is a lot of students delivered to and from school safely and we couldn't do it without our amazing group of bus drivers.
Last night, we capped off Love the Bus Month with our annual School Bus Driver Appreciation Banquet and recognized the Bus Driver of the Year from each school.
Today, we’re sending a HUGE thank you to all the amazing school bus drivers out there! 🙌🏼 You’re the ones who make sure our kids get to and from school safely, rain or shine, early mornings or late afternoons. Your patience, kindness, and dedication mean the world to so many families.

Celebrating Black History Month is an important time to reflect on the rich legacy and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. This month, our school system is proudly honoring the achievements of Black leaders, thinkers, and innovators who have shaped our society. From classroom activities to special events, we're committed to educating students about the powerful impact of Black history and culture.
In honor of Black History Month, we hope you'll take a moment to learn about one of the pioneers in education here in Lee County, Mr. William Bartelle (W.B.) Wicker, who ensured African American students had access to education during segregation by founding the Lee County Training School on the site that is now W.B. Wicker Elementary School. 🌟 Mental Health Awareness Starts Here! 🌟
We are proud to equip our high school students with the tools they need to respond to mental health crises through Teen Mental Health First Aid Training. 🧠💙
Did you know nearly 50% of adolescents live with a mental health disorder, and 1 in 5 of them experience significant challenges? It's crucial we empower our students to recognize the signs of mental health struggles, help themselves and their peers, and seek the right support when needed.
With this training, our students are learning to identify early warning signs of mental health issues, open up important conversations, and get help from trusted adults. Read more here: https://www.lee.k12.nc.us/article/2049964

The Career Development Leadership Team plays a crucial role in supporting CTE teachers and enhancing the overall effectiveness of career development initiatives. This team typically works to improve educational experiences for students, foster professional growth for teachers, and build stronger connections between schools, industries, and communities.
Career Development Coordinators (CDCs) are professionals who support the career readiness of students within Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Their primary role is to help students develop the skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary to successfully transition from school to the workforce or higher education. They play a vital role in connecting students with career opportunities and ensuring that CTE programs align with industry needs.

Due to continued winter weather conditions, Lee County Schools will be closed for all students and staff on Friday, February 21, 2025. Ice and snow continue to linger on many secondary roads, and the sidewalks and parking lots at several of our schools remain hazardous, with minimal melting taking place. After consulting with local law enforcement and emergency management, it is clear that travel conditions remain unsafe for our students and staff.
This is a full school closure—no work needs to be completed. It’s a good old-fashioned snow day! Get outside, stay safe, and take this opportunity to enjoy the winter wonderland with family and friends. Make some great memories!
Stay warm, and we’ll see you soon!

Due to worsening road conditions, below-freezing temperatures overnight, and the possibility of more winter precipitation tomorrow morning, Lee County Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all students and staff members on Thursday, February 20, 2025. There will be no live instruction on this day. Students were given assignments to complete and submit in order to receive attendance credit. They will have five days to complete these assignments.
All campuses will be closed, and no staff should report to their sites. Staff members should consult with their immediate supervisors regarding work that needs to be completed from home.

Health Science education is a field of Career and Technical Education (CTE) that prepares students for careers in healthcare and medical fields. It focuses on teaching students the skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed for a variety of healthcare professions, ranging from clinical roles to administrative positions.
In Health Science education, students learn about topics like anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, patient care, medical ethics, and healthcare systems. Depending on the program, students might also have opportunities for hands-on training through internships, labs, or clinical rotations in real healthcare settings. One well-known component of health science education is HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America), which is an organization that helps students develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while preparing them for careers in agriculture.
This field is growing rapidly due to the increasing demand for healthcare workers, and it offers a wide range of career opportunities with the potential for meaningful impact on people's lives.

Business and Marketing Education is another key area within Career and Technical Education (CTE), focusing on preparing students for careers in business, finance, marketing, and management. This field helps students develop essential skills for success in the business world, including leadership, communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
These programs can lead to careers in a wide range of industries, such as retail, advertising, banking, human resources, and e-commerce. Plus, they also give students a strong foundation for those interested in running their own business.
Business and Marketing Education often includes real-world learning experiences like internships, business simulations, and competitions, such as FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), which help students sharpen their business skills.
