Due to the possibility of light snow accumulation and icy roads, Lee County Schools will transition to a remote learning day for all students and staff members on Wednesday, January, 22, 2025. Students have been given assignments to complete and turn in to receive credit for attendance tomorrow. Students have five days to complete assignments to receive attendance credit for the day. All campuses are closed and no staff should report to their site. Staff should consult with their immediate supervisor regarding work to be completed from home. We will continue to monitor both local and national weather reports. In the event of further changes, we will post delay and cancellation notifications on our district website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages as well as alert local media outlets. Stay safe & warm,

PUTTING DOWN ROOTS. Fourth grade students at Broadway Elementary helped plant a pair of maple trees on campus today during a visit from John Thomasson. Mr. Thomasson spoke with students about the vast array of products and foods that come from trees and the vital role that trees play in our ecosystem. He showed students the proper planting depth for a new tree and discussed appropriate fertilizer and root care. Thanks to a partnership with Pilgram's, Mr. Thomasson sent each student home with a loblolly pine sapling to plant and apply what they learned. #LCSthrive
