Due to lingering snow and ice expected to refreeze overnight on many secondary roads and neighborhoods, as well as the potential for black ice on bridges and roadways, Lee County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for students and staff on Friday, January 24, 2025.
This delay will allow buses and other vehicles to travel safely during daylight hours. Please exercise caution while traveling, and thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.

Due to road conditions, Lee County Schools will continue with remote learning on Thursday, January 23, 2025 for students and staff. While many main roads experienced some melting, numerous secondary roads, neighborhood streets, and school parking lots remain too dangerous for safe travel.
There will be no live instruction for students on this remote learning day. Students will have five days to complete assignments to receive credit for the day.
Staff members should consult with their immediate supervisors regarding any work to be completed from home.
We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff. Please stay safe and warm.

A message from Dr. Dossenbach: Put the books away for a bit today and enjoy the snow for a bit today! Dress warmly and have a blast! #LCSthrive
Tag us in some of your snow pictures!

Due to the possibility of light snow accumulation and icy roads, Lee County Schools will transition to a remote learning day for all students and staff members on Wednesday, January, 22, 2025. Students have been given assignments to complete and turn in to receive credit for attendance tomorrow. Students have five days to complete assignments to receive attendance credit for the day.
All campuses are closed and no staff should report to their site. Staff should consult with their immediate supervisor regarding work to be completed from home.
We will continue to monitor both local and national weather reports. In the event of further changes, we will post delay and cancellation notifications on our district website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages as well as alert local media outlets.
Stay safe & warm,

PUTTING DOWN ROOTS. Fourth grade students at Broadway Elementary helped plant a pair of maple trees on campus today during a visit from John Thomasson. Mr. Thomasson spoke with students about the vast array of products and foods that come from trees and the vital role that trees play in our ecosystem.
He showed students the proper planting depth for a new tree and discussed appropriate fertilizer and root care. Thanks to a partnership with Pilgram's, Mr. Thomasson sent each student home with a loblolly pine sapling to plant and apply what they learned.
