Good evening Tiger Families! We hope that everyone enjoyed your weekend! We have a lot of events happening this week, please govern yourselves accordingly. We will kick off Autism Awareness Week starting tomorrow! We have Spirit Days this week to celebrate our awareness about Autism! Our EC Department has planned a parent meeting to include resources available for all on Monday, March 31st at 5:30pm in the auditorium. On Tuesday, April 1st, we will kick off our Month of the Military Child! More information will be coming out about our Military Appreciation Spirit Week! On Tuesday, April 1st our 5th graders will also be traveling to their respective middle schools to take a tour and learn about their upcoming classes, electives, as well as the AVID program. On Wednesday, April 2nd, at 1:00pm we are inviting all families to join us for our schoolwide Autism Walk. We will walk around the school beginning in the bus parking lot. We invite you to come out and show your support as we celebrate and bring awareness to Autism! On Thursday, April 3rd we will conduct our North Carolina Check-Ins #1 for 5th Grade Earth Science Make-Up Testing. This test was originally scheduled during Quarter 1, at the beginning of the school year. However, it could not be administered due to a system error. Our 5th Grade teachers decided to review with the students after Check-Ins #3 testing and administer the make-up test during this upcoming week. Again, this test is only for 5th Graders. Also on Thursday, April 3rd, W. B. Wicker will host the Battle of the Books Competition for Lee County Schools from 8am until 2:00pm in the auditorium. We have our very own team that will participate in this event! We are wishing them the very best as they continue to prepare for competition! On Friday, April 4th, we will end this very busy week with a school dance! From 4:30pm until 6:00pm our Kindergartners through second graders will have a their own dance! Then from 6:30pm until 8:00pm our 3rd through 5th graders will have their very own Sneaker Ball and dance the night away! Both dances are five dollars. Students will pay at the door upon entry. Money will not be collected in advance. Just a reminder that we invite and encourage all parents to enjoy lunch with your child anytime you have a chance. However, if you bring in outside food, please make sure that you eat at the table in the connector or at the picnic tables outside. Child Nutrition does not allow students to consume outside food in the cafeteria. As always, please make sure that your child arrives on time each day by 7:55am. If you arrive after the bell rings, you must come inside to sign your child in. We look forward to seeing everyone bright and early in the morning! Have a great evening!
