History

Greenwood School opened in 1929 and housed grades 1-12! The current school building opened in 1998. We still proudly occupy the full-size gym and 700-seat auditorium that was built in 1957.

Community

Greenwood is honored to be part of the Lemon Springs Community! Our supportive neighbors include Martin Marietta, Lemon Springs UMC, Lemon Springs Fire Department and the Lemon Springs Ruritan Club.

Generations

Several of our children are the fifth generation of their family to attend school at Greenwood, contributing to the strong family ties between our school and community.

Head of Class!

Greenwood Elementary is proud to be a FOUR TIME recipient of the Lee County Education Foundation's "Head of Class Award". 2012, 2015, 2017 & 2022.
