Community Partners helping student dreams come true. Last year when Deep River Elementary's Student Government decided on a fundraiser, they hoped to raise $35,000 for updated playground equipment on the lower grades playground. Thanks to a generous $35,000 donation from Wake Stone Corporation and the generous giving of so many others in the community, the SGA and school raised over $60K and was able to fully fund the playground renovation AND make updates to the upper grades playground as well. This story is a true testament to what can be done when a dream meets support and generosity. Welcoming our students back to campus is a whole community effort. This week, employees from Pfizer dropped off some school supply donations for our middle & high school students that they collected over the past month. They brought college ruled paper, pencils, pens, ear buds, large book bags, hand sanitizer, highlighters, 3 inch binders to help get students off on the right foot and set to thrive in the new year. Thanks to Pfizer employees and so many other community partners who have helped make this transition back to school a little easier for many members of our school community. #LCSthrive
