Southern Lee High School participated in a soft lockdown drill using a canine unit for about 45 minutes today. Classroom instruction went on as normal but students were not allowed out of class during this time. There was no emergency at the school and the daily schedule has resumed for the remainder of the day.
Southern Lee will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day.
Please note that all 3rd block students should report directly to their 3rd block class. A lunch will be dismissed to lunch from their class. Don't go directly to lunch after 2nd block ends.
We encourage everyone to take this day and thank our local law enforcement for all they do.
January 9th is to raise awareness on the importance of understanding that the difficult decisions taken by law enforcement officers that are in the best interest of our community and the law.

The theatre dept is excited to announce auditions for the spring musical! We are doing The Wiz!! Auditions will be after school Thursday Jan. 9 for about 3 hours. Callbacks will be Jan. 10. There is a musical audition workshop Tuesday Jan. 7th to help you prepare.
Students will be marked ABSENT if they were not physically on campus. Even if they are exempt from their exam or have already completed it, they will still be marked as absent,.
This does NOT count towards their absences for course credit.

Select CTE courses have in-person final exams given during FINAL EXAM WEEK (Dec. 16-18). See the list of courses and dates posted. Students taking any of the four EOC Exam classes (Biology, English 2, Math 1 and Math 3) will also have to be present for their exam. The schedule is based by which block they have the course. For example, a student with English 2 during 2nd block will have their exam at 8:00 am on Tuesday, December 17. All students will be dismissed at 12:30 PM. There are no early sign-outs. Make up exam day is Friday, December 20th. Students should not be on campus unless they have a course listed.
