“Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are classes/clubs that allow students to develop skills that will be useful in the workplace. They offer a pathway for success and opportunities to individualize their education to cater their career interest. These skills can be furthered into a larger education or can be put straight into the workforce

Our CTE department is the largest department in Southern Lee with fourteen teachers and each teaching around two-four different courses. These classes provide opportunities for leadership, guidance, and initiative. We get to watch students grow into people they never thought they would have the confidence to be and sharpen skills they didn’t realize they had. One of my former students had a speech impairment and their freshman year they were terrified of public speaking. I felt so touched and impressed watching them give a speech to their senior class without any issues. It’s assuring to gradually see students build trust in themselves and their abilities.

Our mission is to empower all students to be successful and productive citizens, workers and leaders in the global economy. Majority of our CTE classes offer credentials, from First Aid to being certified in Adobe. We want to give students the aid they need to land a job in their profession once they graduate. No matter what you're interested in, consider taking a CTE course, we have something for everyone from agriculture to computer science!”
