Everyone knows that at LEC we have amazing students, but we know that they couldn't be as amazing as they are without the support of super awesome parents! At LEC , we believe that when parents and schools work together, students have the best chance for success. As part of parent week, we will be shining the spotlight on some of our LEC Parents to highlight the importance of school and parent partnerships.
Meet Mr. and Mrs. Gomez
Susan and Gus Gomez are parents to LEC class of 2023 graduate, Jocelyn. During their daughter's time at LEC, both Mr. and Mrs. Gomez were heavily involved in our PTSO, with Susan serving as President. We are proud to have been a part of Jocelyn's educational journey and are grateful for the support of the Gomez family.
1. Why did you choose LEC for your child?
To be honest, our oldest daughter suggested we have Jocelyn attend LEC as she could see that she needed more and LEC would be a place where Jocelyn could grow not only academically but personally. We are so happy we listened.
2. What is/was your most memorable experience during your child's time here?
To see Jocelyn develop into herself and find her voice was the most memorable experience as a parent. We saw how much confidence she gained from freshman year to senior year that came from the supportive and accepting staff at LEC.
3. What advice do you have for other parents considering LEC?
Do not hesitate or second guess it, if your child is interested, let them apply and if accepted, become an involved parent too.
4.Is there anything you'd like to add/share/shout out?
Shout out to Ms. Timberlake for having the strength and courage to ask for more of her students and staff and for being honest and real with them as well as the parents.
