Everyone knows that at LEC we have amazing students, but we know that they couldn't be as amazing as they are without the support of super awesome parents! At LEC , we believe that when parents and schools work together, students have the best chance for success. As part of parent week, we will be shining the spotlight on some of our LEC Parents to highlight the importance of school and parent partnerships.
Meet Mr. Thadd McElreath
As an instructor at CCCC, Mr. McElreath is no stranger to our students and staff! This year, however, he became an official member of the family when his son Jude enrolled at LEC. We are excited to have Jude and the McElreath's as part of Team LEC!
1. Why did you choose LEC for your child?
We chose LEC because we knew that Jude needed and wanted to be challenged academically. We were familiar with the academic rigor of LEC and we believed LEC would provide the best academic challenging environment for Jude. We also chose LEC because of the long track record of academic and career success demonstrated by former LEC students. I have had the privilege of getting to know many current and former LEC students; and I am almost always impressed by their maturity and willingness to accept challenges.
2. What is your most memorable experience during your child's time here?
Well, we are just over one month into our time at LEC, so we are looking forward to many memorable experiences yet to come. But one of the memorable experiences of this past month has been the consistent challenges Jude has accepted in various class assignments where he had to dedicate a lot of effort and work into achieving the grade he desired.
3. What advice do you have for other parents considering LEC?
My advice for other parents considering LEC is to simply check it out for themselves and ask questions. In our experience in the application process, we were able to discover many great attributes of LEC that we did not previously know and answers were provided to all of our questions that really helped us in the decision making process.
4.Is there anything you'd like to add/share/shout out?
We are especially grateful to the faculty and staff at LEC who have made this transition as smooth as possible. Dr. Timberlake, Mr. Testa, and Mr. Holeczy have all been especially generous with their time and patience with all of our questions.
