Rachel Hurt, Sharron Williams, and Angel Mills assuming new roles in the District

SANFORD, NC – Following the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday night, Superintendent Dr. Chris Dossenbach announced several district administrative changes.

Rachel Hurt has been named the Director of Exceptional Children. Hurt has been with the district since 2022 and served as Exceptional Children Compliance Specialist. With over 18 years of experience working with exceptional children in both Oklahoma and North Carolina, she brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to her new role.

Angel Mills has been named the Director of Multilingual Education and Support. Previously, she served as the Director of English as a Second Language and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. In her expanded role, Mills will serve the district’s growing population of multilingual families and provide support for Migrant Education, World Languages, and Dual Language Immersion programs.

Dr. Sharron Williams has been named the Director of Student Interventions and Success. Williams, who previously served as the district’s At-Risk Coordinator, will oversee Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and develop, implement, and evaluate intervention processes and procedures for at-risk students throughout the district.

"We are incredibly fortunate to have such talented individuals within our district who are capable of expanding their roles and responsibilities," said Dossenbach. "These changes will better position the district to serve many of our special populations who have unique needs in their educational journey. We remain committed to providing all students a chance to succeed, and we believe these leaders’ impact on students will help our district and community thrive."
