SANFORD, NC – Following the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday night, Superintendent Dr. Chris Dossenbach announced administrative changes at various schools, including the principal roles at Deep River Elementary and East Lee Middle.
B.T. Bullock assistant principal Emily Coggins has been appointed the principal of Deep River Elementary, returning to the school where she spent many years as a classroom teacher. A seasoned educator and lifelong Lee County Schools employee, she brings a wealth of experience and a profound understanding of the school’s unique culture and values.
In announcing this new role, Dossenbach said, “Emily’s love and dedication to the Deep River students, staff, and community are truly inspiring. Her deep-rooted connection to the school has equipped her with invaluable insights, enabling her to quickly contribute to the high expectations that consistently drive Deep River to achieve excellence.”
Kelly Bancroft has been appointed the principal of East Lee Middle School, bringing with her over 20 years of educational experience from Harnett County Schools. Bancroft most recently served as the assistant principal of Western Harnett Middle School, where her leadership played a crucial role in the school’s consistent growth and success. Bancroft has a proven track record of fostering a positive learning environment and driving student achievement.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kelly to Lee County Schools as the next principal of East Lee,” said Dossenbach. “Her extensive experience, dedication to student success and strong leadership skills make her an excellent fit for East Lee.”
In addition to these appointments, changes to various assistant principal roles were made throughout the district. These adjustments are a part of ongoing efforts to develop administrative teams that ensure the highest quality of support for all stakeholders.
Coggins and Bancroft will begin serving in their new roles immediately.
