Academically & Intellectually Gifted (AIG)

SanLee works with the AIG & advanced learning department to help students reach their full potential by matching services with each students' identified abilities.

In addition to individual and group work in our classes with identified gifted students, we offer different programs for our students. These programs include chess clubs, Battle of the Books, and the Science Olympiad programs. These programs help students get more out of their daily school engagements.

Our AIG Lead Contact Teacher is Tina Harrington.

Exceptional Children (EC)

The EC Department strives to serve all students, honoring their talents, and ensure their success.

EC Department services include Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to accommodate students with a documented disability in the least restrictive environment. We recognize that success looks different for each individual students, which is why we provide Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Families who have children that face intellectual or developmental challenges.

The EC department chair is Camm McNeill.

AVID

Advanced Via Individual Determination (AVID)

AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, closes the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.

We received AVID National Demonstration School status in October 2017. We continue to use these instructional strategies throughout our school building. About 72% of our teachers are AVID certified as they have attended hours of AVID training during workdays and afterschool!

Our AVID Site Coordinator is Vincent Pienaar.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

The ESL program provides academic & social English language instruction in speaking, listening, reading, and writing for English learners in K-12. The program is designed to support all teachers' efforts to differentiate instruction to best meet the needs of our students by integrating instructional topics and vocabulary from the student's grade level to help students achieve proficiency in the English language as quickly as possible.

The ESL teacher is Annette Register.

STEM

Career & Technical Education (CTE)

Within our electives department, we offer four different CTE classes where students can gain skills and knowledge about future careers and programs. Our four classes, ranging from STEM, hospitality & tourism, health services, and computers/coding, give our students opportunities to learn about different fields they can purse one day in high school and future careers.

Our CTE/Electives department chair is Kimberly Morrill.
