I am pleased to introduce myself as Robert Newby, your principal for the current academic year. Originating from Sanford, NC, and a product of Lee County Schools, my journey in education began in 1992 as an Instructional Assistant and Bus Driver. Transitioning to SanLee Middle School in 2008, I dedicated myself to teaching middle school mathematics. Subsequently, in 2015, I completed my Administrative Internship at Lee County High School and assumed the role of Assistant Principal in 2016. I remained an Assistant Principal at Lee County High School until July, 2022, when I was named principal at East Lee Middle School. It is with great pride that I return to Lee County High School and to contribute to guiding the Yellow Jackets toward success.
Lee County High School stands as the BEST High School in Lee County, committed to fostering academic excellence and providing students with opportunities for growth during their high school years. With a dedicated team and a supportive community, we strive to create an unparalleled educational experience that empowers our students to thrive and succeed in all their endeavors.
I firmly believe in the potential of every student to learn and their entitlement to a secure and nurturing learning environment. My primary objective is to facilitate the success of each student at Lee County High School.
