My name is Rae Cox and I am the school social worker assigned to J.R. Ingram and W.B. Wicker. I was fortunate to start at the end of the 2021-2022 school year and have been able to work with some amazing teachers and staff. I am looking forward to many years of supporting and encouraging our great students.
My personal mission statement is to be the best human being I can be and, in the process, perform in a way that would be pleasing to all students and staff. I plan to carry this mission over to my responsibilities as a school social worker with my faith leading the way.
I am originally from Pennsylvania and have been in North Carolina for over 20 years. I am a former graduate of UNC Pembroke where I completed my undergraduate and graduate programs. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) where my experience before Lee County Schools included providing mental health services to children, adolescents and young adults; and care management services for all populations.
It has always been a desire to work in the school system and supporting students to being successful individuals, academically and in every aspect of their lives. I am honored to be a part of the Lee County School system. If I can be of service or help support anyone, please reach out.
